The Real Paymaster
In April of 2012, I lost my father. He had been ill for a while, due to a stroke he had suffered years before.
Unfortunately he was in another country when he passed, so I was unable to have a final visit with him.
Years earlier my father had accepted the Lord as his personal Savior, so in my heart I felt he went to be with the Lord.
As I was entitled to paid bereavement time from my employer, I informed my manager about my father’s death. But when my next paycheck arrived, my bereavement time-off had not been included and there was a substantial reduction in my usual paycheck amount.
Where I work there is a small chapel and I just went there and sat and cried. I am a single mother of five and my three youngest where still at home with me.
In the quiet of the chapel, I remembered in the Bible it says not to worry. I asked the Lord to forgive me for not trusting in Him, and thanked Him for always being my provider. I just knew things were going to be alright.
When I returned to my work unit, various of my co-workers shared their sympathy with me and then the miracle happened. I was blessed with a collection that exceeded what I would have received in my paycheck.
Praise the Lord, for He is my all.
